Preparation
New concrete should cure and dry for at least 30 days prior to the application of Rust-Oleum 7201 Universal Floor Primer. Remove oil, grease and all other surface contaminations by alkaline or high pressure (steam) cleaning in combination with appropriate detergents. Remove all laitance, loose or unsound concrete by vacuum-blasting or etching with Rust-Oleum Mathys 108 Surfa Etch Solution. Remove concrete curing compounds completely. Large surfaces should preferably be prepared by abrasive blasting (vacuum blasting) or flame cleaning. Profile maximum 0.5mm. Defects in the concrete should be repaired with Rust-Oleum 5180 Epoxy Repair Mortar or Rust-Oleum Mathys Pegacrete. Small (hair) cracks and air-pockets should be repaired with Rust-Oleum 5412 Epoxy Filler. The surface should be clean and dry during application.
Temperature of air and substrate between 5 and 35°C and relative humidity below 85%. The substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above dew point.
